The Brief
Part of Paris Fashion Week, Haute Couture Week takes place twice a year in January for spring/summer and July for autumn/winter. Couture Week SS24 ran from 22nd - 25th January 2024 and got off to a striking start at Le Petit Palais with French haute couture house Schiaparelli. Alpha Crew put their best foot forward to ensure the show ran smoothly and all eyes were firmly fixed on the other-worldly looks.
Schiaparelli's SS24 'Schiaparalien' show was inspired by founder Elsa Schiaparelli’s fascination with astrology and astronomy and her uncle astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli who made significant observations about the surface of Mars. Schiaparelli's creative director Daniel Roseberry said the collection explored 'the earthbound and the heaven-sent' with profiles that were 'part human, part something else'. There were also nods to Roseberry's Texan roots like the bandana and cowboy boot reworked into modern space-inspired high-fashion.
